Lady Bulldogs already 4-0

Posted

Head coach Charles Durrence in his first slow-pitch season with the Lady Bulldogs, has his girls firing from the first pitch.

In their opening week, Wayne played four games and got four wins. This includes two run-rule wins over Mill Creek.

The Lady Bulldogs allowed just three runs through four games.

Durrence has his roster set and will rely mostly on sophomore Kaylee Madden in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs.

Juniors will litter the infield with Kaylee Keeler in as catcher, Mayce Trejo at first and Haiden Parker at third. Freshmen Daliyah Fuentes will be at second and Faith Brazell will be at short stop to round out the infield.

Allie Walck will be in left field, Kamryn Moss will be in center and Emily Woody will be in right.

Haylee Durrence will see most of her playing time at rover.

Last Thursday Wayne was in Elmore City where they beat the Lady Badgers 9-1.

Moss, Trejo, Durrence and Walck each had RBIs to push runners across for Wayne.

Scoring six runs in the sixth inning was the final push for Wayne to get the win.

Madden was in the circle for Wayne. She allowed just one run on two hits and no walks.

Earlier in the week, Wayne beat Mill Creek in two games with a combined score of 61-2.

Fuentes led the team at the plate with 13 RBIs through both Mill Creek games.

Several other Lady Bulldogs were having prolific days at the plate also. Trejo had five RBIs and Keeler had three RBIs in game one. Jordyn Debaets had five RBIs and Walck had three RBIs in game two.

Monday, Wayne was scheduled to be on the road with games against Fletcher and Clinton. Then Tuesday they had the Dibble Festival. Starting Thursday (today), Wayne will be in Lexington for their annual tournament.
