Kathleen Koon Cannon, born on December 2, 1968, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, to Paul and Doretha (Spencer) Koon. She passed away peacefully at her home in Newalla, Oklahoma, on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a remarkable woman whose contributions and passions left an enduring mark on those who knew her.
Kathleen pursued her education diligently, earning a bachelor’s degree and establishing a successful career as a planner for Tinker Air Force Base. Her professional achievements were a testament to her dedication and commitment to her work, traits that she carried into every aspect of her life.
Beyond her career, Kathleen had a profound love for the outdoors. She found joy in rock hunting and fossil collecting, and displayed her creativity by making her own jewelry. Photography was another passion, allowing her to capture the beauty of the world around her. Kathleen also enjoyed fishing, and her fondness for sunflowers was a reflection of her vibrant personality and love for nature.
Kathleen shared her life with her loving husband, Jim Cannon. They were married on August 6, 2011, and they celebrated 14 happy years of marriage. Kathleen often remarked that her animals were her children, further illustrating the nurturing spirit she carried within her.
Kathleen is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Cannon, and her loving father, Paul Koon. Kathleen is also survived by her mother-in-law, Edna Cannon; Aunts and Uncles; Cousins; Sister and Brothers-in-law; Nieces; Nephews; and many Friends.
Kathleen now joins her late mother, Doretha Koon, and brother, Jason Koon, who we are confident will welcome her with open arms.
As we remember Kathleen, let us celebrate her vibrant spirit, her deep love for family and nature, and the indelible impact she had on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
