This is a holiday favorite and must have at my house. It is a recipe from John D.’s grandmother, Theitis Curreathers Montgomery who lived in Hobart, Okla.

Buffet Potatoes

2 lbs. frozen hash brown potatoes

1/2 cup melted margarine

1 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

1 can undiluted cream of chicken soup

2 cups grated cheddar cheese

1/2 cup chopped onion

2 cups sour cream

2 cups crushed corn flakes mixed with 1/4 cup melted margarine

Heat oven to 350°.

Thaw potatoes. Combine with rest of ingredients except corn flakes.

Sprinkle buttered corn flakes on top in large flat pyrex dish.

Bake 30-45 minutes or until bubbly. Mix all ingredients together.

Place in greased 9x13 inch casserole dish and bake for 1 hour.
