For those who have read comic books for decades, or those just interested in learning more about the perhaps unexpected depth of the genre, the Pioneer Library System is offering a discussion group centered on the genre.

Sacred Panels: A Comics Book Club will continue into the future with monthly meetings generally scheduled on the third Thursday of each month. Access to the Zoom presentation is available by signing up in advance at http://pioneer.libnet.info/event/4766766. A valid email address is required.

Topic and date for the next discussion is:

April 15 – Invincible, Vol. 1: Family Matters, by Robert Kirkman (author of The Walking Dead series).

A copy of this title will be available through the Hoopla downloadable service.

Since the weather is about to turn cooler, I thought this creamy, cheesy pasta soup would be a good recipe to make.

Cheesy Corn & Pasta Soup with Ground Beef

1 lb.  ground beef

1 cup  frozen corn

1 bell pepper, any color, chopped

16 oz. jar Taco Bell® Thick & Chunky Salsa

14-1/2 oz. can chicken broth

2 cups water

1 envelope Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix

1 cup  bite-size pasta, uncooked

8 oz. Velveeta®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Brown meat in large saucepan; drain. Add corn and peppers; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.

Add salsa, broth, water and dressing mix. Bring to a boil. Add pasta; cover. Simmer 10 to 12 minutes or until pasta is tender.

Add Velveeta; cook until melted, stirring occasionally.
