The Purcell Ladies Golf Association will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, at the Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course clubhouse.

The kick-off meeting is open to all interested women golfers.

The Knights of Columbus of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church will hold a Valentine’s Dinner Friday, February 14.

The event will be held in the parish hall at Fourth and Jefferson in Purcell.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be held from 7-10 p.m.

Tickets for the adults only dinner are $80 per couple or $40 for singles.

The meal will include steak, baked potato, salad and dessert.

The Purcell Public Library will present the “Information Investigation: Immigration Q&A” Tuesday, February 18, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the library.

Make new friends while working on your sewing projects. Designed for adults 18+.

Join us as we come together to work on a personal sewing project and get to know people who share a similar interest. Discover new techniques and perspectives as we meet with others to learn about their experiences while sharing your own.

Please bring your personal project and any materials, such as machine, fabrics, notions, you need to help support your experience and comfort. Supplies will not be provided.

This is a recipe from a cookbook of John D.’s grandmother, Gladys Flow. It is perfect for a cold winter night!

Santa Fe Soup

1 lbs. lean ground beef

1 medium onion

1 can Rotel

2 cans Mexican style stewed tomatoes

2 cans ranch style pinto beans

1 can corn

1 lb. Mexican Velveeta Cheese

Brown beef and onions, drain. Combine all the ingredients, except the cheese, in a slow cooker on low.

Cook for 2-3 hours then add the cheese and continue cooking until the cheese melts.
