The Purcell Public Library will present “Connection Corner: Twilight Movie Matinee” Saturday, July 13, from 12-2:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the library.
The program is for teens age 12-17 and adults 18+.
Join us as we come together to enjoy the movie “Twilight” and get to know people who share a similar interest. Discover new perspectives as we meet with others to learn about their experiences while sharing your own.

Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell will hold Vacation Bible School Tuesday, July 16, through Thursday, July 18, from 9-11 a.m.
All children age four to sixth grade are invited to attend.
The theme for VBS is “Kindness and Mercy.”

Trinity United Methodist Church will hold Vacation Bible School from Monday, July 29, through Wednesday, July 31.
VBS will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. each evening.

The Jeff Wells family of Purcell traveled to Destin, Fla., with family and friends for a 10 day beach vacation.
Accompanying Jeff and Suzanne Wells were their daughter, Alison Wells and her two daughters, Blakeley and Clara; friend, Josiah Gibson of Slaughterville; son, Adam Wells and friend Kimberly Vo of Edmond and Pookie.
Cousin Gary Goodfriend “house, plant and pet”sat while the family was vacationing. Remaining in Purcell were Dixie, Honey and Zoe Wells.
Goodfriend returned to his home in Austin, Texas, when the vacationers returned.

The 15th Annual Heart of Oklahoma Back 2 School Bash will be held Saturday, August 3, from 5-8 p.m.
The event will be located at Main Street and 2nd Ave., across from the caboose between McClain Bank and the McClain County Courthouse in downtown Purcell.
There will be various activies, games and lots more.
Eight hundred backpacks with school supplies will be given away.
Everyone is welcome and everything is free.

This recipe is an easy and comforting dinner idea full of hearty hamburger, vegetables and pasta. This family-friendly recipe is sure to be a staple in your meal plans!
Cheesy Sour Cream Hamburger Hotdish
12 oz. package egg noodles prepared
1 lb. hamburger
1/2 yellow onion diced
1/2 bell pepper diced
1 Tbsp. diced garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
24 oz. jar pasta sauce
1 cup sour cream
8 oz. cream cheese cubed
2/3 cup Parmesan
1 cup shredded cheddar
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
Preheat your oven to 350°.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute the hamburger while breaking it up with a meat chopper.
Add the onion, bell pepper, garlic and salt and cook for 5 minutes until the hamburger is cooked through. Add the pasta sauce and mix well.
In a small bowl, add the cream cheese and microwave for 1 minute.
In a sprayed 9”x13” dish, add the cooked egg noodles, sour cream, cream cheese and Parmesan. Mix until well combined. Add the hamburger mixture to the pan and stir until everything is loosely combined. Top with the shredded cheddar and Italian seasoning.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the hotdish is heated through.
