Purcell Public Schools has partnered with Wayne, Whitebead and Pauls Valley Public Schools to launch the Central Oklahoma Regional Educator Hub (C.O.R.E.).
This innovative teacher apprentice program offers a meaningful pathway for staff to earn a bachelor’s degree and become certified teachers through on-the-job training while continuing to serve the communities they know and love.
The initiative is sponsored by Oklahoma Public School Resource Center (OPSRC) in partnership with Edwell.
The new program started with a kickoff luncheon for the inaugural cohort.
A Purcell Schools release said, “This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to growing our own educators and strengthening public education across our region. C.O.R.E. represents a meaningful investment in our staff and districts. We look forward to its lasting impact on our communities.”
The effort was spearheaded by Dr. Sheli McAdoo, who kept it at the forefront of planning so staff and the school district could benefit from a teacher apprentice program.
The OPSRC is a non-profit organization that supports Oklahoma’s public schools by providing expert resources, professional development, networking and advocacy to boost academic achievement and operational efficiency for districts, staff and leaders.
