Harold William Scoggins was born on May 20, 1939, in Vian, Oklahoma, to Jess and Nellie (Ross) Scoggins and passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in Maysville, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years.
Harold was known as “the tractor man” for the Pauls Valley Round-Up Club, where had worked the rodeo grounds since 1975. Harold loved riding horses and being a rodeo cowboy. He was a mechanic, truck driver, and had retired from Texaco as a field operator. In his younger days Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and roofing with his sons. Harold will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends.
Harold is survived by his sons, Harold Scoggins, Jr. of Norman, Oklahoma, Joe Scoggins and Lisa of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and David Scoggins and Sarah of Duncan, Oklahoma; daughter, Murna Herrington of Maysville, Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Scoggins; parents, Jess and Nellie Scoggins; sons, Derik Scoggins and Ronald Scoggins; son-in-law, Ronald Herrington; brothers, Jess Scoggins, Jim Scoggins, Dobb Scoggins and Ferell Scoggins; sisters, Merell Scoggins, Marie Scoggins and Sue Scoggins; grandson, Nathan Scoggins and great-grandson, Phoenix Scoggins.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma, under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
