Gad was born September 23, 1961, in Portland, Oregon, to Ray and Shellie Jean (Allen) Holloway. Gad enjoyed watching old black and white westerns and detective shows, and listening to music, especially from the 70s and 80s. When he could get away with it, eating candy corn was his favorite candy, but ice cream, peanut butter and honey as well as strawberries with chocolate were at the top of his list.

Gad loved to arm wrestle, take rides anywhere in the car, especially to see the big buildings in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed being with his friends and bowling. Gad was very spiritual and loved to talk about God and Jesus Christ, and their love for all people. Gad was a defender of peace, righteousness and stayed away from contention.
