Purcell to end the regular season, Purcell for Districts

Last Friday, the Lexington Bulldogs were in Lindsay for a tight game with district foe, Lindsay.

Despite being knotted at 25-all at halftime, Lexington dropped a 60-54 decision with the Leopards.

Lindsay pulled away in the second half, outscoring Lexington in both the third and fourth quarters.

Missed free throws were a killer for the Bulldogs, going 9-20 from the charity stripe.

Two Bulldogs were in double figures in the loss. Zeke Faulkenberry led his team with 17 points while Trey Hartzog added 14. Drew Dierking had eight.

Lexington hosted Bridge Creek on Tuesday and has a rematch with Class 3A No. 3 Purcell on Friday night.

They are also matched up with the Dragons in Bi-Districts. They will play in Purcell on Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m.

Girls

The Lady Bulldogs fell to the Leopardettes last Friday night, 59-43.

Lindsay held a 31-17 lead at halftime and Lexington couldn’t climb back in it, despite outscoring Lindsay in the fourth quarter.

Maddie Manuel had a team-high 10 points. Janelle Winterton added seven. Rylee Beason, Landri Bean and Addi Lippel each had five.

The Lady ‘Dawgs hosted Bridge Creek on Tuesday. They will be in Purcell Friday night for a 6:30 p.m. tip with the Dragons.

District pairings were released and Lexington will have a third shot at Purcell. The game will be Saturday, February 18 at 6:30 p.m.
