McClain County Commissioners recently received a good audit report from State Auditor and Inspector Cindy Byrd’s office.
The county had no major infractions. In fact, District No. 2 Commissioner Wilson Lyles said, “We were very pleased.”
The audit conducted just a few weeks ago was for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024.
Byrd’s office used the Government Auditing Standards that is issued by the Comptroller General of the United States.
Lyles reported in the commissioner’s regular meeting Monday at the McClain County Courthouse the board approved assisting the Delta Community Action by assisting in the rental for the agencies downtown Purcell office.
Lyles said members of the FEMA assessment team were expected to be in McClain County Tuesday to drive around the county and assess the damage from recent thunderstorms.
“We’re happy to have them here to help us with some costs,” the veteran commissioner said. “We are still working to fix roads damaged from the storms.”
