CREDITORS AND
NOTICE OF HEARING
TO: All persons interested in the Estate of NORMA LEE SMITH, Deceased.
You are hereby notified that on the 2nd day of April, 2026, the Petitioner, FLOYD EDWARD SMITH, JR., filed in the District Court of McClain County, a Petition fo Summary Administration, Appointment of Special Administrator, and Petition for Determination of Heirs, Legatees, and Devisees, and for Distribution. The Petitioner has alleged that decedent, NORMA LEE SMITH, age 85, died on the 3rd day of December 2020, domiciled in and residing in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, and that the total value of the decedent’s property in Oklahoma is less than $200,000.00.
That Petitioner states decedent did not leave left a Last Will and Testament and therefore passes intestate. Because the total estimable value of the Estate is under $150,000.00, Petitioner has requested the Court order summary proceedings pursuant to 58 O.S. §245, et seq.
The heirs of the Estate are the Petitioner, FLOYD EDWARD SMITH, Jr., as well as Allen Dale Smith, Sheryll Ann Townsend, Randy Lee Smith, Rhiannon Harguss, Christen Smith, and Conner Smith.
In an Order for Combined Notice entered herein, the Court found that it should dispense with the regular estate proceedings prescribed by law, order combined Notice to Creditors, and issue an order for Hearing upon the Petition for Summary Administration, Appointment of Special Administrator, and the Petition for Determination of Heirs, Legatees, and Devisees, and Distribution.
Pursuant to the Order for Combined Notice, all creditors having claims against Decedent NORMA LEE SMITH, deceased, are required to present same, with a description of all security interest and other collateral, if any, held by each creditor with respect to such claim, to the Attorney for Special Administrator, William Deveraux, Jr., 124 N. 3rd Avenue, Purcell, Oklahoma 73080, on or before the 3rd day of May 2026, or the same will be forever barred.
Notice is hereby given that a hearing will be held on the 21st day of May 2026, at 9:30 o’clock a.m., at the McClain County Courthouse before Judge Charles Gray. At the hearing the Court will decide whether to approve the Petition for Summary Administration, Appointment of Special Administrator, and Petition for Determination of Heirs, Legatees, and Devisees, and Distribution.
You are hereby advised that you may file objections to the Petition for Summary Administration and the final account and petition for determination of heirs and distributions at any time before final hearing and send a copy to the Petitioner in care of his attorney, William Deveraux, Jr.,124 N. 3rd Avenue, Purcell, OK 73080, or you will be deemed to have waived any objections. If you have no objections, you need not appear at the hearing or make any filings with the Court.
If an objection is filed before the hearing, the Court will determine at the hearing whether summary proceedings are appropriate and, if so, whether the estate will be distributed and to whom the estate will be distributed.
