Emelia Dunlap died December 28, 2021 in Lexington, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years 8 days. Funeral Services were held Friday, December 31, 2021 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at the Lexington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Online condolences may be made and service live streamed at www.wadleysfuneralservice.com.

Emma was born December 20, 1946 in Carnegie, Oklahoma, to Natividad and Rosalie (Ramirez) Gonzales. She was raised and graduated school in Carnegie, Oklahoma, and then continued her education at Brigham Young University.

Emma  married James Dunlap on July 14, 1970 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and baking.

Emma worked in the Long Term Care industry for many years. She also enjoyed fishing with James on a warm day, watching Property Brothers with her great-granddaughter, Sophia, and spending time with all her grandbabies. Emma enjoyed her lunch dates with her granddaughter, Shelby, and then getting pie at the Pie Junkie. 

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Natividad and Rosalie Gonzales; her sisters, Alberta Roach and Pearl Bointy; her brothers, Johnnie Gonzales, Ray Gonzales, Phillip Gonzales, Joe Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales and Junior Gonzales.

Survivors include her husband, James “Poppy” Dunlap of Lexington; her sons, Jed Dunlap of Lexington and Paul Dunlap and wife, Jacki, of Minco; her daughter-in-law, Pam Richards of Oklahoma City; her granddaughter, Shelby Rubio and husband, Isaac, of Purcell; her grandsons, Tyler Dunlap and wife, Jayna, of Lexington, Colton Dunlap and wife, Amanda, of Mustang and Cristian Dunlap of Minco; her granddaughter, Carmen Dunlap of Minco; her great-grandchildren, Sophia Rubio, Dominic Rubio, Cashyn Dunlap, Callie Dunlap and Wesley Dunlap (on the way); siblings, Dora Passmore of Moore, Ginia Crane of Phoenix, Ariz., David Gonzales and wife, Ruth, of San Leandro, Calif., and Freddy Gonzales of Yukon; and numerous other relatives and friends.
