Funeral services for Eddie W. Sullivan, 74, of Goldsby were held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Sullivan passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Norman Regional Hospital.

Eddie Wayne Sullivan was born December 1, 1947 in Pauls Valley, Okla., the oldest of three children born to Ted and June (Barnett) Sullivan. He was raised in Maysville and attended school there, graduating with the Warrior Class of 1966.

By chance, he met a young lady named Theresa Tippit. They met at Don’s Dairy Mart in Purcell, on a night that would change their lives forever. On March 11, 1967 in Purcell, Okla., Eddie and Theresa were married. They traveled the country for his military career, and by 1980 had settled in Goldsby. Together they raised three daughters, Becky, Sherry, and Mindy, or as Eddie called them, Boo, Twinkie, and Meatball.

Eddie joined the Marine Corps, where he studied and worked as a jet mechanic. His passion for planes and the open sky drove him to earn his pilot’s license, and he was never happier than when in the air. He transferred to the Oklahoma Air National Guard, where he was proud to continue serving his country, and for years he simultaneously worked as a Police Officer in Oklahoma City, as a motorcycle officer. Eddie was a true patriot, and retired as LT Col from the 185th ACS, after more than three decades of service.

Eddie’s life at home revolved around his girls. He cherished Theresa and raised his daughters to be strong, independent, and true to themselves. He was a proud grandfather and a true friend; quiet and unassuming, rarely drawing attention to himself. His wit was razor-sharp, and he could make anyone smile.

He enjoyed dancing, family, and a simple way of life. He was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and June Sullivan and sister, Judith Sullivan Arnold.

He is survived by his best friend and life partner, Theresa of the home; children, Becky ‘Boo’ Musick and husband, Nate, of Piedmont, Sherry ‘Twinkie’ Sullivan-Pack and husband, Ticon, of Norman, Mindy ‘Meatball’ Sullivan of Newcastle, and Greg Maline of Washington; brother, Tim Sullivan and wife, Sue, of Wynnewood; seven grandchildren, Keelan Sullivan, Brady Loftis, Maddie Musick, Will Musick, Bastion Pack, Alanna Pack and Trevor Maline; one great-granddaughter, Norma-Joy Sullivan; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
