Dr. McAdoo has good news for school board

Posted

During last Monday night’s regular monthly Purcell Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Sheli McAdoo had some good news for the board members.

In addition to addressing the annual National Honor Society’s Veterans Day program at the high school, McAdoo told the group the school’s insurance provider has announced increased benefits from $1 million to $2 million without any additional premiums.

Dr. McAdoo said she is very excited about a new teacher apprenticeship program the district is looking to implement.

It is a program in conjunction with Oklahoma Public School Resource Center and a non-profit out of Texas.

“As we get more information about the program we will be sharing that with the board and the district,” Dr. McAdoo said.

Fund-raisers were approved by the board for the High School Climate & Culture and the Key Club.

The board was provided with updates and additions to the executive session policy, request for open records, the code of ethics for board members, which is a new policy, the current procurement regulation and a new policy for Due Process for Administrators.
