Adam Demorest was sworn in as Purcell’s newest city councilman during a special meeting Monday night at the Community Room of the Purcell Police Service Building.
Also at the meeting, Jay Tate was named interim mayor and Bobby Bruehl the new interim vice mayor.
The council approved the payment of $660,330.16 to Sutphen Corporation for a new fire engine.
The board also heard a report from city treasurer Wynn Tyson-Kramer about utility collections and started briefly discussing the city’s upcoming FY budget for 2026-27.
The council also passed an ordinance requiring mobile food vendors to purchase permits when operating here.
