Colton was born December 12, 2001, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Amy (Turner) and Josh Hughes. He attended his first seven years of school in Lindsay, then from eighth to his senior year at Lexington Schools. Colton graduated from Lexington High School in 2020.

He loved fishing, he would go year-round, no matter if he caught a fish or not. In high school, Colton loved wrestling, then after he graduated, he liked going to the little league room and helping the little kiddos. Colton enjoyed hunting, as well as helping others. He loved his family, and enjoyed watching his little siblings play sports. Colton enjoyed coaching his little brother and sister, Zeke and Cilee. He was an old soul who loved everyone.  Colton enjoyed getting outside with his Papaw and hanging out with him. He was loyal and dedicated. Prideful!

Colton was goofy and loving. He enjoyed playing video games with his brother, Conor. Colton and Conor had an instant connection when Conor was born. It was like they were joined at the hip.  They weren’t just brothers, they were best friends.  Colton had the best work ethic around and worked extremely hard.  He loved hanging out with his boys, Cagan, Caleb, Tyler, Free and Avery. Colton loved driving his momma crazy, but was an amazing son, making his dad and mom extremely proud of him.

Colton was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Alice May Turner; his maternal great-grandparents, Ina and Elmer Brandon; his maternal great-grandparents, Monroe and Veta Turner; his paternal great-grandparents, Jay and Pat Donovan; and his uncle, Michael Roberts Phillips.

Survivors include his parents, Josh and Amy Hughes of Lexington; his siblings, Conor Wesson, Cilee Turner, and Zeke Hughes, all of Lexington; his grandpa, Jimmy Turner of Asher; his grandparents, Linda and David Landez of Norman; his aunts and uncles, Jimmy Dale and Angie Turner of Huntsville, Texas, Mike and Martina Blythe of Macomb, Dustin and Nancy Turner of Jay, Jasique and Shelly Hughes of Wanette; and numerous cousins and friends who will greatly miss him.
