Carolyn June Dover Felton, formerly of Goldsby, Okla., passed away February 12, 2024 in Lexington, Okla. Born November 7, 1949 to Joe and Pauline Dover in Washington Okla., she was the seventh of eight children and grew up on the family farm.
Carolyn would eventually go on to work at General Motors where she retired after 26 years. She loved gardening , OU football, loose slots , fast ponies, civil war history and dragging her girls to every historical site she could find. She had a quick wit and sharp tongue and if you were ever unlucky enough to challenge her in politics you wished you hadn’t.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joe and Pauline Dover; brothers, Joseph and Robert Dover and sisters, Vera Madden and Margie Yeary.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Felton Wood and husband, Matthew, of Blanchard and Christa Felton Szabo and husband, Leigh, of Moore; five grandchildren, Katherine Elizabeth Walton, Jonthomas Michael Box, Haven Patrick Kenneth Felton, Montana Roy Brantley and Bela Jon-Aubrey Szabo; eight great-grandchildren, Daisy and Magnolia Magnie, Zoey, Lucas and Christopher Walton, Huxton Kraut, Edmond Box and MacKlynn Felton; sisters, Ruth Madden and Linda Bridwell and husband, Bruce; brother, James Dover and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be hosting a dinner at the Cole Community Building at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Carolyn requested no funeral services and that her ashes be spread by her daughters as she requested.
