On Friday, February 3, 2023 Carol Martell, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed peacefully away at the age 76.

A private memorial service will be held for family.

Carol, the oldest child of William C. and Irene M. (Osika)(Chadwick) Davis was born on January 30, 1947 in Chicago, Ill. Carol lived in many places but followed in her mother’s footsteps and settled in Purcell Okla., where she raised her three children.

Carol made a career of retail sales until her retirement from Albertson’s to care for her aging mother. In 2019 she moved to Texas to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending the Farmers Market where she never met a stranger and loved the homemade banana bread she purchased regularly.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking and shopping but most of all she loved her four legged baby “mama kitty.” Her favorite past-time was playing bingo and spending time with her family eating “the best bbq chicken ever” made by her son-in-law.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Irene, and stepfather, Loyd Chadwick, both of Purcell, and her father William Davis Sr. of Oregon.

She is survived by her sister, Diane Malloy and brother-in-law, Lambert, of San Jose, Calif.; her brother, William Chadwick of Holdenville, Okla.; her daughter, Dina Peller and son-in-law, Mark, of Ft. Worth, Texas; her son, David Hewson Jr. of Muskogee, Okla., and son, Densel (Chip) Dutton Jr. of Purcell, Okla.; granddaughters, Krystle Spaulding and husband, Paul, of Mustang, Okla., and Hailey Hewson of Muskogee, Okla.; her grandsons, Cameron Hewson of Muskogee, Okla., and Joseph Peller and Brian Peller of Ft. Worth, Texas, and two great-grandsons, Levi and Samuel Spaulding.
