Busy Sunday ahead

Happy Birthday to my roomie, Gracie.

She celebrates her big day Sunday.

Speaking of Sunday, the mysteries of Easter are always intriguing.

It still blows me away to think that those 12 men simply put down their fishing nets and walked away from their jobs, homes and families to follow Jesus.

And I have to be reminded each year that Judas Iscariot hung himself after he betrayed Jesus.

It’s hard to wrap your head around just how tough Jesus was being hung on the cross.

And with him knowing full well what lay ahead of him it’s just mind-boggling.

I always enjoy the small group Bible studies that occur during Lent.

Good fellowship combined with learning more and more about the Bible is a good combination for me.

Easter is the heart and soul of Christianity.

As if Sunday couldn’t get any busier with it being Easter and Gracie’s birthday, it’s also the final round of the Master’s Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA.

Several people from around here have been down to Augusta during the week attending practice rounds of the most famous golf tournament of the year.

Lucky them.

Purcell’s Rotary Club celebrated its 100th anniversary in grand style last Thursday night with a well attended banquet at Southwind Hills in Goldsby.

That will also be the site of the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Banquet April 13.

That’s when the Giving Time Awards will be presented and the Citizen of the Year announced.
