McClain County Commissioners voted Tuesday morning to lift the current burn ban for the county.

The burn ban had been in place for the past several weeks.

In other county business, on October 2 commissioners accepted a general budget in the amount of $11,860,125.74 to be kept on file at the County Clerk’s office.

At that meeting commissioners voted an increase of $200 per month for all county full-time employee’s salaries beginning with the January 2024 payroll with the exception of the election board secretary and the election board assistant secretary who both received significant state raises in May 2023.

The emergency management director will receive an increase of $100 per month due to the raise granted in July 2023 to that position.

Salary increases for officials include $87 per month to District One Commissioner, District Three Commissioner, Assessor and Treasurer and $94 per month to District Two Commissioner, sheriff, court clerk and county clerk effective with the October 2023 payroll.
