The Lexington Bulldogs hosted the OKC Mets on Monday and dropped that game 24-1.
Colby Haynes and Buddy Cormany collected one hit each and Haynes had their lone RBI on a solo homerun in the fourth inning.
Three pitchers saw time on the mound – Ryan Johnson, Cormany and Cody Rollins. Together they had four strikeouts.
The OKC Mets finished the game with 16 hits.
Last week Lexington was in the I-35 Classic hosted by Wayne and Wynnewood.
The ‘Dawgs picked up an 8-2 win over Minco to kick off the tournament.
Minco pushed one run across in the top of the first inning, but Lexington answered in the bottom with seven runs. They added an insurance run in the fourth.
Minco scored one more in the top of the fifth, but couldn’t claw back in it.
Lexington had seven hits in the win, including three from Kash Klupenger. He also had three ribbies.
Corey Ramsey also had two RBIs.
In their next game of the tournament Lexington beat Velma-Alma 11-8.
The Comets jumped out 4-1 after two innings.
But Lexington came charging back with seven runs pushed across the plate in the bottom of the third inning, including Cameron Haley’s three-run homerun.
Haley also had a double in the fourth inning to score another run. He finished the game with three hits and four RBIs. Cormany and James McMillan also had multiple hits in the win.
Games for Friday were moved up to Thursday due to weather conditions.
Saturday’s game was a 4-2 loss to Wayne.
Both teams scored two runs in the first inning and the score was tied up through two.
Wayne added two runs in the third and held that lead for the rest of the game.
Lexington finished with four hits – Klupenger had two while Haynes and Kaiden McRavin each had one.
Finally, Lexington played Wynnewood for third place and won 1-0.
Klupenger had two hits while Haley had one.
The Bulldogs’ lone run came in the first inning on a dropped third strike.
Haynes was on the bump for the game. He lasted all five innings allowing just one hit and striking out three.
The Bulldogs were hosting Wynnewood on Tuesday then scheduled to play Meeker in Bricktown on Friday.
