To kick off their regular monthly meeting at the administration building Monday night, Purcell’s Board of Education honored Academic All-Stater Paisley Nichols and her parents.
Board members also voted to change the policy on the naming of facilities. The change was to delete the requirement that a person be deceased for three years before a facility can be named after him or her.
Board members voted to purchase 130 Chromebooks from CDW*G for $39,258.60, to purchase furniture for the elementary safe room addition from Krueger International for $53,260, purchase furniture for the new intermediate safe room for $72,772 and furniture for the new elementary gym for $1,606.50.
The board voted approval to create a new Level II Technician position. The district currently has a Level I Technician who works on the network.
Dr. McAdoo reported the tech has added 15 network certifications and next year will move to a Level II.
Board members also gave their stamp of approval to approve the 2025-2026 audit contract and engagement letter with Bledsoe, Hewett and Gullekson.
They also approved an out-of-state trip to NYC for the junior high and high school show choir/music theater classes for April of next year.
