Purcell Police provided perimeter support for agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in a raid in Purcell Monday morning.
Police set up the area in the 700 block of West Apache for 8-10 agents searching a residence.
The search lasted from around 8:30 a.m. until around 11:30 a.m.
The ATF Public Information Officer was contacted by The Purcell Register but as of press time had not responded.
The exact cause of the search is unknown but one person left with the agents. It is unknown if the person was under arrest.
According to their website, ATF’s responsibilities include the investigation and prevention of federal offenses involving the unlawful use, manufacture, and possession of firearms and explosives; acts of arson and bombings; and illegal trafficking of alcohol and tobacco products.
