It’s going to be a very busy and exciting weekend in Lexington with the annual celebration of 89er’s Day Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There will be vendors and food booths both Friday and Saturday with the annual parade kicking off at 2 p.m. Saturday.

There will be a car show Saturday. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with awards (Best in Show and Top 10) at noon. The cars will line up for the parade at 1:30 p.m.

There will be a cash prize for the top float. The parade will start on Fourth Street .

The carnival rides will be available all three days with wristbands for sale in advance for $25.

There will be live entertainment with Crossfire taking the Pavilion Stage Friday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Heart of Oklahoma Kiwanis Club will have a pancake breakfast Saturday while there is an art show planned.

The breakfast will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the McCown Park Pavilion where law enforcement officers, fire fighters and EMTs all eat for free.

The talent show on Saturday will take the stage at 2:30 p.m.

Among other items of interest are dancing, comedy and magicians.

Several inflatables will be set up for the kids.
