As of press time Wednesday, rain continued to fall in Central Oklahoma.

As of 8 a.m. Wednesday the Purcell area had recorded 3.3” since the monsoon began Monday.

That hefty amount of rain lifted the year-to-date rain bucket total for Purcell to 20.3” compared to 14.24” for this same time last year.

In comparison, Oklahoma City has recorded 12.15” with the normal year-to-date total setting at an even 13”. OKC had recorded 9.79” this time in 2021.

The Oklahoma mesonet reported Washington received 2.75” in the three days while Byars received 3.07”.
