Wayne was defeated by Ringling Friday night, 38-8.
The Bulldogs had difficulties much of the game to get their offense going against the physical Blue Devil defense.
“We struggled moving the ball against them and had some of the same miscues that have plagued us this season,” head coach Brandon Sharp said. “Ringling is a good football team. They get to the ball and punish you when they get there.”
Sharp said Jeremiah Peterson ran the ball well in the game.
Senior Jaxon Dill had Wayne’s lone touchdown of the night – a two-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Ryli Taylor made good on the two-point conversion when Dill found him on a pass after the score.
Defensively, Duke Moore led the Bulldogs with nine tackles.
Eli Stottlemyre had five tackles and a fumble recovery.
Sloan Jackson registered three tackles and a fumble recovery.
Ringling, now 6-3, scored three times in the first quarter and twice in the second.
The loss dropped Wayne to 1-8.
Konawa
Wayne travels to Konawa for their final game of the season.
The Tigers are 6-3 this season and are playing good football.
“This is the best Konawa team I’ve seen since I’ve been at Wayne,” Sharp said. “They are big and physical and they do things right.”
Running back Jeremiah Flores is a bruiser at 6’2”, 220 pounds and is the bell cow for the offense.
“He’s real physical and hard to tackle,” Sharp said. “But their other skill kids are extremely talented and we’ll have to play well.”
