Senior Olivia Palumbo struck out eight batters on the way to a 4-3 victory over Tuttle Monday during Washington’s season opener.
Tuttle struck first and pushed a run over the plate in the first inning.
But the Warriors evened the game at one each in the same inning when Ava Salcedo tripled, before being driven in by Bree McHughes.
Raelee Adkins drove in two more runs in the fourth inning when she double to score sisters Kelby and Briley Beller.
Daphne Palumbo drove in Shelbie Caveness in the fifth to score Washington’s final run of the day.
Meantime, Olivia Palumbo was cruising until the sixth inning when things got a little more interesting as Tuttle scored twice.
But she held it together and took care of business to close things out in the top half of the seventh.
