Funeral services for Wanda F. Williams, 89, of Purcell were held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Williams entered Heaven’s Gates on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

Wanda Faye Brumfield was born March 13, 1932 in Wayne, Okla., the seventh of eight children born to Luther Leon Brumfield and Walcie Mary (Parks) Brumfield. Wanda was raised near Washington and attended school at Woody Chapel.

She married her best friend and life partner, Thomas Harold Williams on June 18, 1947. They made their home in Purcell where together they raised six children; sons, Dwayne, Tommy, David and Dicky and daughters, Kathy and Beverly.

Wanda was a hard worker and a self-made entrepreneur. At one time, she owned and operated her own café in Lexington, the ‘Coffee Shop’. She also worked side by side with Tom in family business, Williams Inspection Services.

If you asked her, Wanda would tell you that her greatest joy was her family. She was a woman of great faith and longtime member of the Lighthouse Worship Center. Wanda was a gifted piano player, and enjoyed playing in church, and in her family gospel group. She enjoyed traveling with Tom and spending time with the Jolly Elders, their friends at Newcastle First Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Williams; son, Dwayne Williams; grandchildren, Chad Lindsey and Sherri Williams and siblings, Robert Brumfield, Raymond Brumfield, Junior Brumfield, Russell Brumfield, Lillian Woods, Lillie Treadwell and Louise Matthews.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Kathy Hudson and husband, Lynn, of Cromwell, Okla., and Beverly Middleton and husband, Dean, of Purcell; three sons, Tommy Williams and wife, Janet, of Purcell, David Williams and wife, Donna, of Purcell and Dicky Williams and wife, Tonia, of Council Bluff, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
