Shorter days

DST ending bittersweet for some

Posted

Hello darkness my old friend, said no one ever.

But here it is.

Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. Sunday when the clocks fall back, taking away that extra hour of daylight at day’s end.

Although the U.S. Senate voted unanimously earlier this year to make DST permanent starting in 2023, the bill is in limbo.

The House of Representatives has yet to consider the bill.

Passage in the House is required before the measure can be submitted for President Biden’s signature.

Until then you might as well try to strike up a friendship with darkness, at least for 18 weeks.

DST will return at 2 a.m. March 13.
