A Celebration of Life Memorial for Sharon Swetland, 71, of Purcell will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Landmark Church in Purcell. Services  will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Swetland passed away peacefully, and surrounded by family, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

Sharon Kay Brunson was born March 1, 1950 in Bakersfield, Calif., the third of five children born to Burlie Baynard Brunson and Mary Helen (Self) Brunson.

Sharon spent her early years, traveling between California and Oklahoma. She eventually settled in Oregon. During this time she met a young man named Walter Swetland.  They were the perfect couple, and on May 1, 1977, Walter and Sharon were married in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After raising their four children, they moved to Oklahoma to be closer to her family. Sharon took a job at Purcell Municipal Hospital, and worked in admitting and medical records until her retirement.

Sharon cherished her family, and looked forward to visiting as often as she could. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids. Sharon was a woman of faith and loved her family, and will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burlie and Mary Brunson and her brother, David Brunson.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Walter Swetland; children, Amy Conley of Purcell, Tricia Langley and husband, Brian, of Purcell, Tammy Swetland of Purcell and John Swetland of Purcell; brother, Burlie Brunson and wife, Lois, of Virginia; sister, Linda Smith and husband, Michael, of Oregon; brother, Kenneth Fox and wife, Floy, of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Maryrose, Tina, Tyler, Michael, Justin and Emma Grace; seven great-grandchildren, and two more on the way, and many other family and friends.
