Authorities suspect possible foul play in the disappearance of a Goldsby man.

Bill Dwayne Shipley, 47, has been missing since July 19.

Shipley’s sister reported concern for his whereabouts after he did not contact his family for several weeks.

“The nature of Shipley’s job delayed the missing person report,” McClain County Sheriff Detective Lt. Dan Huff said.

Shipley is an out-of-state contract painter and it is not uncommon for his relatives not to hear from him.

Huff said this is out of character for Shipley because he had never left home without informing his family of his whereabouts.

“At this point of our investigation, we suspect foul play,” Huff said.

One of Shipley’s vehicles was recovered over the weekend at an apartment complex in south Oklahoma City.

The Jeep pickup with a ladder rack was found. Some of the items in and on the pickup were missing. Huff said the ladder was one of the items missing.

Another vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet S-14 extended cab 4x4 pickup, is also missing. The pickup is deep red in color and bears an Oklahoma license plate of FSH 262.

His credit card has also been used in the metro area, and investigators are seeking the identification of a person of interest, Huff said.

“The person of interest is not necessarily a suspect at this point, but we would like to speak with him to see what he may know of Shipley’s whereabouts,” the detective said.

Sheriff’s detective David Tompkins said a red flag also went up after investigators learned Shipley had not collected his mail since around July 19.

Shipley is described as 5’ 9” with blue eyes and brown hair. His weight was given at 175 to 200 pounds.

Tompkins said Shipley’s clothes were found packed at his trailer in Adkins Hill Trailer Park in Goldsby as though he was ready to leave for a job.

If anyone has information on Shipley’s whereabouts or the identification of the man in the photo, they are asked to call Huff or Tompkins at the McClain County Sheriff’s Office, 527-2141.
