Marquita Ann (Robins) Arnesen, known as Tweet to all who loved her, passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of October 6, 2025, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Always smiling to the end of this life, heaven rejoices her arrival.
Tweet was born the third child of Ellis and Lottie (Ward) Robins, in Norman, Oklahoma, on May 26, 1953. She was raised in Purcell, Oklahoma. and attended Mary Simpson Grade School and Purcell High School. She won the Hula Hoop contest at Mary Simpson Elementary. She graduated in 1971 and was voted “Biggest Flirt” by her senior class. She was chosen as Spanish Queen, Senior Football Attendant, and Miss School Spirit. She was in the Choir, Drama Club, Pep Club, on the Social Committee and she played Powder Puff Football. She was everywhere, except in trees. She didn’t climb trees.
After graduation, Tweet moved to Summit County, Colorado, which became her home for 50 years. There she met and maried the love of her life, David Bruce Arnesen, known as Dave or Rocky Mountain Slim, throughout Summit County. Unto this union was born one son, Drew Bradley Arnesen. Her family was everything. She loved being a wife and a mom. Through good times, she was a radiant light that made everyone smile. During bad times, the light of her presence was a beacon of hope to show the way in the darkest hours.
Whatever the occasion or gathering, when Tweet arrived the room lit up and the party began. No matter the task, it became fun and the task was completed with hoops, hollers and laughter. She enjoyed being with people and had a heart of gold. Like little boys fall in love with stray dogs and take them home, Tweet fell in love with lost souls and took them home. She fed them, gave them a place to sleep and gave them a hand up if they stumbled on their journey to success. She will be missed by many.
Tweet is predeceased by her parents, Ellis and Lottie Robins.
She is survived by her husband and friend of 39 years, Dave Arnesen; her son, Drew Arnesen; a sister, Connie Dumas and husband, Johnny, of Norman, Okla.; three brothers, E Lee Robins ‘Butch’and wife, Betty, of Tuttle, Okla., Warren Robins and wife, Deborah, of Moore, Okla., and Ed Robins and wife, Cindy, of Purcell, Okla.; nieces and nephews, Travis, Wesley, Everet, Melody, Kelsey and Danielle and their respective families.
A memorial service, to spread her ashes, will be held on October 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at their home, 11 Timber Way, Breckenridge, Colo., and officiated by Glen McCollum.
As the summer solstice arrives, a celebration of her life will be held in Summit County. Time and place are pending and will be announced at a later date.
The family requests that you share your special memories of Tweet. Tell us who you are, how you met and what you remember about her. Your memories will be shared at her celebration of life. Her family will be eternally grateful to receive these, addressed to Memories of Tweet, PO Box 2969, Breckenridge, CO 80424.
