A memorial service for Mark Q. Turbyfill, 82, of Blanchard  was held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.

Mark passed away peacefully at home on April 17, 2023.

Mark Turbyfill was born on April 13, 1941 in Sulphur, Oklahoma, the youngest of 3 children born to Ben Turbyfill and Freeda (Cambell) Turbyfill.

He was primarily raised in Madill where he graduated with the Wildcat Class of 1960. Shortly after graduating high school, he went to work in the automotive industry doing paint and body repairs. He truly enjoyed what he did, and it became a great passion of his.

A little while later, Mark was introduced to the love of his life, Verna Collett by his best friend. They met in January of 1975 and were married in August of that same year. The two raised three beautiful children together, Shanna, Marcus, and Grant.

Throughout the years, his passion for paint and body work led to him being able to open his own shop, Mark’s Paint Supply. Not only did he love what he did, but he was successful at it too. They were able to expand Mark’s Paint Supply having multiple store locations, one in Oklahoma City and one in Lawton, where he eventually retired in 2008.

Mark was a hard working and determined man. When he wasn’t working at the shop, he could be found working cattle at Turbyfill Ranch. Whatever he set his mind to, he accomplished. More than anything, Mark was a family man. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He never missed a chance to cheer them on at any sporting event they had, and he truly cherished every moment with them.

Mark was such a good man, so beloved by his family, but now he is where he longed to be – in the open arms of the one he loved the most, Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Freeda Turbyfill; his sister, Gelene Cambell; and his sister-in-law, Clarice Turbyfill.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Verna Turbyfill of the home; his daughter, Shanna Houston of California; his sons, Marcus Turbyfill and wife, Timi, of Blanchard and Grant Deason and wife, Lisa, of Goldsby; brother, Clee Turbyfill of Choctaw; brother-in-law, Bill Cambell of Middleburg; six grandchildren, Marc Turbyfill, Chase Turbyfill, Madison Deason, Taylor Deason, Noah Deason and Evan Deason; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
