It was a quiet week for the Lexington Bulldogs as they traveled to Marietta on Tuesday for their only game. The Bulldogs got their third win over the Indians, 60-44.

“It’s always tough to beat a team three times, but we took care of business,” head coach Derek Clark said.

According to Clark, several guys stepped up led by Elijah Pearman who finished the game with 20 points. Colt Mixon had 17 while Cash Dierking had 11.

Clark also mentioned Pearman, Gavrie Williams and Reagan Smith.

“Those guys had lots of good rebounds and gave us a good advantage,” Clark said.

Tuesday night, Lexington was hosting Wynnewood for their Homecoming game.

“They’re athletic and play a tough schedule. We’ll have to take care of the basketball and not turn it over from their pressure,” Clark said.

Starting Thursday, the Bulldogs will be in the Beggs tournament. They play Henryetta with a 3 p.m. tip.

Girls

The Lady ‘Dawgs lost a close game with Marietta last Tuesday, 48-43.

The score was tied up 15-15 after the first quarter, but the Lady Indians’ offense heated up as they outscored Lexington 13-8 to hold a 28-23 halftime lead.

Lexington came out in the third and got their offense going, outscoring Marietta 12-9. They chipped away and cut the Marietta lead to two.

But, the Lady Indians once again outscored Lexington in the final stanza to pull out the 48-43 win.

Lexie Torres led her team with 16 points while Dulce Rodriguez added 11. McClain Moore, Addison Lippel and Emma Turnpaugh had four apiece. Ava Rowe added three.

The Lady ‘Dawgs were set to host Wynnewood on Tuesday for Homecoming. They travel to Beggs on Thursday where they play the host in their first game of the tournament with a 4:20 p.m. tip.
