The Wayne Lady Bulldogs were in Binger late last week for the District tournament with the Lady Bobcats.
Wayne dropped both games, 14-0 and 11-0, to end their season.
“Overall, we didn’t hit well. Maddie was our best hitter; she put the ball in play several times.
“Both of our pitchers did well the first few innings, but Binger made adjustments and starting hitting the gaps,” head coach Nikki Herrin said.
Lost to graduation are Addison Keeler, Brysten Shephard and Liz Bunner.
“We will miss our seniors. Addison has been a four year starter and leads by example and does everything to the best of her ability.
“Liz is one of our girls who shows up with a good attitude,” Herrin said.
Through both games, Wayne collected four hits. Two hits for Maddie Moreno in the first game and one hit each from Moreno and Alyssa Hobson in the second game.
Errors were hard to overcome as Wayne committed seven over the course of both games.
“I have enjoyed coaching these girls. It’s not always about the record, but it’s fun to get to be a part of their lives, even on a small scale.”
