Auditions will be held for Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production of Aladdin Monday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m. and end by 5:30 p.m.

Aladdin will be presented from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25, from 3-4 p.m. at the old Purcell Junior High Auditorium, 201 Lester Lane.

Students enrolled in grades kindergarden through 12th grade are invited to audition.

Students from surrounding schools may audition for a fee of $25 which is refundable if the student is not cast.

The Purcell High School Prom Committee will host a Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday, March 25, from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

The event will be held at Purcell High School, 2020 N. Green Ave.

Tickets are $20 for dad and daughter and $5 for each additional daughter.

All proceeds go to the PHS Prom.

The 2023 Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Banquet is set for Thursday, April 13, at Southwind Hills in Goldsby.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the welcome will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Here’s a dish to serve to commemorate the Chickasaw Cultural Center’s annual Three Sisters Celebration, which will continue through March 18 at the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur.

Three Sisters Stew

1 lb. ground beef

2 cups onion, diced

6 cups water

2 14.5 oz. cans diced tomatoes

6 cups red skinned potatoes, cubed

15 can tomato sauce

1 cup corn, frozen

1 cup yellow squash, diced

1 cup zucchini, diced

15.5 can light red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can blackeyed peas, drained and rinsed

1/2 cup quick cooking barley

4 garlic cloves, minced

1-1/2 tsp. black pepper

Brown ground beef and onions, drain.

In a large stock pot, add all ingredients. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes until the potatoes are soft.

Serve immediately.
