Join in on “Information Investigation: GenealogyGenealogy Help” a program sponsored by the Pioneer Library System.

The program will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, January 14, at the McClain County Museum, 203 W. Washington St., in Purcell.

Our world is full of information. Learn how to find and identify credible information on genealogy. The program is designed for adults.

Learn the skills and tools needed to become an information investigator. Practice evaluating information and checking the credibility of your sources in this program on genealogy.

Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions yet?

Now that we’re a few days into 2022, it’s time to put them into action!

Most people make the usual resolutions to eat a healthy diet, stop smoking, exercise more and save more.

Whatever yours are, try to stick with them. I’ve been  told that it only takes 90 days to make a change in your life!

With school having resumed after the Christmas break, drivers should be especially vigilant for pedestrians before and after school hours.

Drivers need to watch out for children walking and biking to and from school which includes those getting out of cars in school parking lots which can be particularly dangerous.

We  need to pay special attention to our greatest resource, our children!

With cold weather on the way, this would be a good dish to have ready when you get home.

Slow-Cooker Cowboy Stew

2 lb. boneless stewing beef, cut into 2x1-inch pieces

2 Tbsp. each flour and chili powder

2 carrots, sliced

1 onion, chopped

3 stalks  celery, sliced

1 cup frozen corn

15 oz. can kidney beans, rinsed

16 oz. jar Taco Bell® Thick & Chunky Salsa

1 cup water

1/4 cup  Bull’s-Eye Original Barbecue Sauce

1 cup Kraft Shredded Triple Cheddar Cheese with a Touch of Philadelphia

Brown meat, in batches, in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add to slow cooker. Sprinkle with flour and chili powder; stir to evenly coat meat.

Add all remaining ingredients except cheese; stir. Cover with lid. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.

Top with cheese.
