Tonight’s the night!

The Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting  will be held tonight, Thursday, December 8, on Main Street in Purcell.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the parade to start at 6 p.m.

The Mother’s Entwined 2022 Christmas Home Tour is Sunday, December 11, from 1-4 p.m.

Christmas Home Tour patrons will have the opportunity to view the homes of Scott and Stephanie Mendell, 5239 S. Main in Goldsby, Alan and Terryn Madden, 291 Reese Lane in Goldsby, and Curt Carwile, 1234 Carl Stokes Road in Purcell and the venue of Pryor’s Pizza.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $15 from any Mother’s Entwined Club member, Savvy Parke, Goldsby Town Hall, the office of Roger Cudd, Marcum’s Nursery and Althea’s Vault.

The Wayne Fire Department is holding its 32nd annual Toy Drive.

Firefighters are currently accepting toy donations, $10 value, or cash donations to help them meet their goal.

Toys will be given to children at the department’s drive-through program December 10.

Purcell’s Lights From the Heart at Chandler Park will be open nightly until Saturday, December 31, from 5:30-10 p.m. nightly.

Visit the light display for a photo with Santa on December 3, 10 and 17 from 5:30-10 p.m.

Over two miles of lights are available to drive through.

Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

McClain County Treasurer Teresa Jones reminds property owners in the county that 2021 tax statements have been mailed.

Full or half payments are due before January 1.

The treasurer’s office also now has the ability to email tax statements.

Property owners can also print out their tax statements by going online to tmconsulting.us.com.

Here is a good and easy recipe just in time for the holidays.

Breakfast Casserole

1 can crescent rolls

1 pound mild breakfast sausage

6 eggs, beaten

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350°.

Spray 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Brown sausage in skillet, drain excess grease.

Spread crescent rolls in bottom of 9x13 dish. Top with sausage, then pour eggs over sausage. Generously top with cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes.
