Voters in the Dibble School District gave superintendent Chad Clanton the result he and the school board wanted when they went to the polls Tuesday.
By a 61.17 percent super majority, the voters approved a $15.45 million bond issue to finance the first phase of constructing a new high school.
The unofficial vote total was 271 in favor of the bond to 172 against.
“We are grateful that our community continues to support our school,” Clanton said. “Considering our current growth and anticipated future growth, these facility improvements are greatly needed.”
The district plans to demolish the old elementary school and weight room to make room for the high school construction. Also, the bonds will pay for new athletic lights.
