Darlene was born December 8, 1937, in Rosedale, Oklahoma to Bennie and Lu’Ella (Payton) Sampson. She was a firecracker! You never knew what she might say or do next. Darlene loved our Lord and Savior, and attended First Baptist Church on Santa Fe in Purcell, where she served in various tasks. During her past-time, she enjoyed being with her family and attending her great-grandchildren’s sporting events and watching her stories on TV.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Lu’Ella Sampson; her husband, Raymond Polk; her three sisters, Cleo, Gloria Ann and Velma; her brother, Jesse; and her eldest son, Theodore.

Survivors include her three children, Sharon Love of Okmulgee, Okla., Jane Polk of Lexington, Okla., and Benny Polk of Purcell, Okla.; two sisters, Wilma Jackson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Vern Payton of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews; her two best friends, Levern Moore and Vanilia Love; and many other relatives and friends.
