Child killed in accident on SH 74 last Wednesday

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues its investigation into a fatality traffic accident that occurred on SH 74 south of Purcell Wednesday morning.

The OHP said a one-year-old child from Tecumseh was killed when a 2018 Ford Escape collided with a 2019 Winnebago RV.

Troopers said Trent A. Boggess, 26, of Tecumseh was driving the Ford while the Winnebago was driven by Trent G. Carnes, 55 of El Reno.

The one-year-old was a passenger in the Ford along with Brandon Skinner, 28, of Lexington and a three-year-old child.

Skinner and the three-year-old were treated and released at Purcell Municipal Hospital. Carnes was also treated and released.

Boggess, who was transported by AirEvac, was admitted to OU Medical Center in critical condition with head, arm, leg, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.

The OHP has not released any other details about the accident.

Troopers Pape and Conway of the Traffic Homicide Unit investigated. They were assisted by the Purcell Police Department, Purcell Fire Department and Wadley’s EMS.
