Graduating from OU with perfect 4.0 GPA

University of Oklahoma officials report there are 5,519 candidates for graduation this spring.

Of those, 170 maintained a 4.0 grade point average for their entire undergraduate career making it one of the largest 4.0 classes in school history.

Brenda Diaz of Purcell is one of 87 of those 4.0 students from Oklahoma. 83 are from out of state.

Diaz has earned her degree in management.

She and the other 169 4.0 students will be honored by OU President Joe Harroz in a special ceremony May 2.

Each student who earned an overall 4.0 GPA will receive a bronze medallion on a crimson ribbon which may be worn during graduation ceremonies.

Graduation weekend at OU is May 13-15.

Diaz is the daughter of Sergio and Duvi Diaz of Purcell.

She is a 2017 graduate of Purcell High School.
