In its regular monthly meeting Monday, Purcell’s Board of Education rehired all of the district’s administrators.
That includes superintendent Dr. Sheli McAdoo, assistant superintendent Jerry Swayze and principals, Jason Sanders, Carol Testa, Tina Swayze and Cindy Stone.
The board approved the school calendar for 2023-24 and 2024-25 and approved the contract with the school’s auditor.
Board members voted to send teacher and administrators to the National Professional Learning Communities Conference in July at Fort Smith, Ark.
Funding for the $23,000 for 18 teachers and administrators will come from Title 1 funds.
Approval for repairs to the elementary gymnasium passed the board to the tune of $26,000 to Native Construction and Roofing and $6,429 to Clayco Industries.
Board members applauded the service of Bill Smith, Jr. who was attending his last board meeting. He will be replaced after the April election by Mary Webb who ran unopposed for his seat.
The board tabled an agreement with the City of Purcell for use of the tennis courts during school hours.
