The Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were recognized at the Chamber Banquet Thursday evening. This year’s board included Ryan Smith, Sherri Sheehy – Chamber President-Elect, Elisabeth Baker – Executive Director, John Sanders – Chamber Vice-President, Makayan Carrizales, Jace Woodrow, Greg Wheat – Chamber Past-President, Raegan Knox, Andrew McClung and Melissa Pruitt – Chamber President. Jay Tate was honored as Citizen of the Year at the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Banquet Thursday evening. Presenting the award was The Purcell Register Publisher John D. Montgomery. Tate was honored for his numerous volunteer activities, including organizing the annual Memorial Day ceremony at Hillside Cemetery, the Dragon Lunch Account, serving on Purcell’s City Council and others.

The Purcell Rotary Club was honored as the Volunteer of the Year at the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Banquet Thursday evening. Presenting the award to Purcell Rotary member Rebekah Lynam was Chamber President Melissa Pruitt. The Rotary Club volunteers for many local projects, including Operation Christmas, the McClain County Museum and Purcell City Lake beautification.
