Head coach Braiden Black and his Wayne Lady Bulldogs notched their first win, a 13-10 victory over the Lady Bulldogs of Empire.
“We hit the ball well and kept our strikeouts way down. And, overall on defense we had a decent outing for our first game,” Black said.
Several of his players stood out on the diamond. Bailey Kennedy got on base nearly every at bat and caught a great game for Wayne, according to the coach.
Maddison Hunt was also successful at the plate with multiple hits for the Lady Bulldogs.
Third baseman Allie Walck was solid and Kaylee Madden played well at short stop.
“We had a couple of errors that led to runs scored, but for our first game, I think it was a decent effort by the team on defense,” said the coach.
Sophomore Haiden Parker was in the circle for the entire game and had multiple strike outs.
