Purcell will send three field event qualifiers to Catoosa for the State Track Meet along with the 1600 meter relay team.
Chelsea Spain qualified in the long jump while Jacie Carr qualified in the discus. Lucy Wilson made the elite State Meet field in the pole vault.
Coach Greg Dillard’s 1600 meter relay quartet of Spain, Liz Caralampio, Tate Quintero and Kora Keith were Regional Runners-up and will be on board for the trip to Catoosa.
“We were able to post our best time of the year in the relay with a time of 4:14.7,” Dillard said. “We knocked eight seconds off our previous best. I was very proud of this group going out and competing like they did.
“We qualified three events and possibly a fourth event with six different athletes into the State Meet,” Dillard continued.
“Jacie Carr threw her personal best in the discus to finish fourth to qualify as an at-large entry.
“Hailey Carpenter also threw her personal best to reach the Regional finals. I was thrilled by the performance of these young ladies. They gave outstanding effort. The girls posted their best times of the year in several different events at Madill.”
