Many members of the mainstream media have made sure to paint nationwide protests as “peaceful” in recent months.
Last Wednesday night CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell showed just how far they are willing to go.
The Insurance Information Institute reported earlier that day damage caused by “riots and civil disorders” from May 26 through June 8 would cost insurance companies between $1-2 billion.
Billion with a B.
When O’Donnell reported the overwhelming figure, she made sure to insist the protests were mostly peaceful.
We can all be very thankful they weren’t violent.
Reports are the arson and looting will cost the insurance industry more than any other violent demonstrations in recent history, eclipsing the total in Los Angeles for the Rodney King riots of 1992.
Media watchers pointed out that NBC’s “Nightly News” and ABC’s “World News Tonight” didn’t even bother to report the alarming statistic.
One person wrote, “Earth to the liberal media, ‘peaceful’ protests don’t leave behind death, destruction and shattered lives in their wake.”
Meanwhile, the riots continue every night in places like Portland, Oregon.
In the same vein, the Louisville Metro Police Department announced Tuesday it will begin setting up barricades in the downtown area and restricting some vehicle traffic in anticipation of an announcement from Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron regarding the investigation into Breonna Taylor’s death.
This comes after the department declared a state of emergency Monday and a federal courthouse and adjacent offices in Louisville were boarded up Sunday ahead of the decision.
That’s right, they’ve had to board up a courthouse and nearby offices as if a hurricane was coming.
I guess that means more ‘peaceful’ demonstrations.
What a world we live in.
