The McClain County Museum is offering genealogy help from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, July 11, for adults.
An experienced genealogist will be on hand to help adults with their questions.
The TSET Healthy Living Program is sponsoring the 1st Annual Play Streets on Wednesday, July 24, from 9-11 a.m. at 919 N. 9th Ave., on the south side of the Purcell Public Library.
Events will include jump rope, hula-hoops, bubbles, soccer, basketball, kickball, music and much more.
The entire family is invited to come and play in the street!
The Purcell Public Library invites its youngest guests to blast off into a summer of learning at the library’s weekly Preschool and Toddler Story Times.
Story Times are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays during June and July.
Each of the story times feature rhymes, stories, songs and more to help young children in developing their pre-reading skills.
Advance registration is requested, but is not required.

The Purcell Public Library will offer its resources and the knowledge of an experienced genealogy researcher Wednesday, July 17, from 2-4 p.m. in the Meeting Room.
Participants can bring their specific questions or just learn more about starting their family research and about all the resources the library has to offer.
Ages 18 and up may participate, and no advance registration is required.

The Purcell Public Library is taking tweens ages eight to 11 on a journey in its weekly Space Camp series scheduled at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 and 18.
The theme for July 11 is Outer Space Dioramas and July 18 will feature Cooking Out of This World.
Space and supplies for each week’s event are limited, so registration in advance is required.

Murder in Outer Space, a murder mystery dinner theatre, will be presented at the Purcell Public Library.
The play will be held Saturday, July 20, from 6-8 p.m.

This is a great recipe to serve on a hot day.
Taco Pasta Salad Recipe
For the Dressing:
3/4 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup salsa
1 packet taco seasoning
For the Salad:
1 pound pasta, cooked according to package directions
1 cup corn kernels
1 pint grape tomatoes, halved
1 -1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
6 ounce can black olives, sliced and drained
2 avocados, diced
4 green onions, thinly sliced
In a bowl whisk together mayo, sour cream, salsa, and taco seasoning until smooth. Set aside.
In a large bowl mix together cooked pasta, corn, tomatoes, cheese, olives, avocado and green onions. Add dressing, and mix until everything is evenly coated.
Place in refrigerator until chilled.
