A pre-kick-off Kiwanis Pumpkin Fest luncheon will be held Friday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the First American Bank parking lot on Main Street.
The luncheon is sponsored by Westbrook Gardens Assisted Living Center.
The $10 lunch will include hamburgers, chips, drinks and dessert.
The October Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be held Friday, October 5, at 12 p.m. at Tommy’s Place, 210 Comanche, in Purcell.
Lunch is only $5 and includes a drink and dessert.
The presenter this month is Daniel Weitman, Lead Assistant Attorney General.
The Purcell Public Library invites children ages 5 and under and their caregivers to a special weekly story time just for them.
Preschool Story Times will take place at 10:45 a.m. Friday, October 5. Each Story Time features books, games, dances, songs, craft time and more. Each session promotes pre-reading skills for children and tips for parents and guardians to continue pushing those skills at home.
Registration is not required to attend any of the story times.

The Purcell Public Library invites children to its weekly After School Arts and Crafts program Wednesday, October 10, at 3:15p.m. in the Meeting Room of the library, 919 N. Ninth St.
Participants may get a little messy making their projects so parents are encouraged to dress their children appropriately. Registration is not required to take part.

Here’s a quick and easy recipe that has great flavor!
& Red Pepper Pasta
2 tsp. oil
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut into bite-size pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups broccoli florets
1 red pepper, cut into short thin strips
10 oz. tub Philadelphia Original Cooking Creme
2 cups hot cooked rotini pasta
2 TBL Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese
Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add chicken, garlic and vegetables; cook and stir 7 to 8 minutes or until chicken is done and vegetables are crisp-tender.
Add cooking creme; cook 2 to 3 minutes or until heated through, stirring frequently.
Stir in pasta. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
